Kite Festival Honors Life

Although we had a gorgeous day, we got off to a slow start with no wind. It
didn’t take the kids long to figure out running power would overcome that
problem and, with the help of some energetic parents and grandparents,
we were up and running/flying. The wind arrived at midmorning, along with
the rest of the kite flyers and spectators. We saw many more spectators
this year than in the past, which helps get the message of the event out:
How great the gift of life and family are, and our support for both.

Sunday with Santa

Our “Santa Sunday” celebration was an outstanding event. It was a magical experience to see the joy of the children’s faces meeting with Santa and the happiness of the parents and grandparents. Santa’s helpers really had a workout to keep up with the crowd.  Thank you to Dave Zink, our Family Program Director, and all of our Knights, Ladies, and Santa’s helpers (more than 20 altogether!) who helped manage the crowds. This is one of our annual events that never gets old where we can witness firsthand the joy of our children and our parish family. Santa was very busy, as there were 165 children who visited him. Each child received a coloring book, crayons, a small bag of candy, and a toy. A small band played and sang Christmas music for an hour and a half.
